Environmental Services

  • ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
  • LEAD-BASED PAINT ABATEMENT
  • CONTAMINATED SOIL REMEDIATION AND SITE REHABILITATION

Hudspeth’s focused performance in asbestos and lead-based paint abatement and contaminated soil remediation results in a predictable, safe, quality project outcome that mitigates an owner’s risk. We have the experience and skill to implement a wide range of cleanup technologies and to properly handle both hazardous and non-hazardous soils, sludge and debris.

We are dedicated to finding the most cost-effective, well-executed environmental solution through:

  • Support for state reimbursement programs
  • The development of project designs, installation of proper engineering controls, coordination with regulators and submission of all applicable closeout documentation
  • Abatement of asbestos and lead in all building medias, including installation of controls and removal and disposal
  • Remediation, transportation and disposal or on-site treatment of soils contaminated with a wide spectrum of contaminants, such as asbestos, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, PAHs, PCBs, VOCs and chlorinated solvents

Project Success

Levitt Pavilion (Environmental Remediation & Civil Site Services)

Hudspeth’s original scope of work for the Levitt Pavilion project was to perform site civil and structural excavation services. In addition, Hudspeth remediated Regulated Asbestos Contaminated Soils (RACS) discovered on the site. RACS quantities and identified areas were unknown, and past projects at the site had significant problems with environmental infractions. The project site was broken into three separate scopes of work to document the discovered contamination location and quantity: the building pad area, the waterline, and the sanitary line.

Douglas County Landfill

The purpose of this project was to clean up the southern portion of the property that once consisted of a domestic trash landfill for the Town of Parker. Hudspeth successfully remediated 45,434 cubic yards of trash debris and imported 40,698 cubic yards of clean fill material totaling 5,368 loads. During the initial phase of the project, Hudspeth assisted Douglas County in obtaining a VCUP to complete the project.

Creekside Elementary School – Main Building

As part of the Boulder Valley School Districts Bond Program, Hudspeth completed all asbestos abetment required for the school to be demolished. Work includes removals of 30,000 SF of sprayed-on texture and plaster (including overspray), 600 SF of glued on ceiling panels, 4,500 SF of floor tile and mastic, 36 window systems consisting of the glazing and caulking, 8 asbestos-cement panels, 12 fire doors, 150 pipe fittings in walls and 100 above ceiling, and 150 pipe fittings and 8,000 SF soil in tunnels.
